1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Gue Holdings Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Cabello – Try On Hairstyles mobile application ("the App").
We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Who We Are
The data controller for the App is:
Gue Holdings Ltd
Registered in England and Wales
For privacy-related enquiries, please contact us at: o@guemw.com
3. What Data We Collect
We collect minimal data. Specifically:
- Photos you upload. When you use the App, you voluntarily upload a photo of your face. This photo is transmitted securely to Google's Gemini API solely for the purpose of generating your hairstyle preview. We do not store, retain, or have access to your photos. Once processed, the image is not saved by us on any server we operate.
- A randomly generated RevenueCat user ID. To manage in-app purchases and subscriptions, we use RevenueCat. RevenueCat assigns each user a random, anonymous identifier. This ID is not linked to your name, email address, photo, or any other personally identifiable information.
4. What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect or store any of the following:
- Your name, email address, or contact details
- Your photos or facial images — these are processed in transit and not retained
- Your location data
- Device identifiers beyond what RevenueCat requires
- Usage analytics or behavioural tracking data
5. How We Use Your Data
The data we handle is used solely for the following purposes:
- Your uploaded photo is sent to the Gemini API to generate hairstyle previews. This is the core function of the App and is performed only at your explicit request when you tap to generate results.
- The RevenueCat user ID is used to manage your subscription status and process in-app purchases.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the App's core functionality.
6. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance — processing your photo is necessary to deliver the hairstyle try-on service you have requested.
- Legitimate interests — using RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and prevent fraud, in a manner that does not override your rights.
7. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third parties only to the extent necessary to provide the App's functionality:
Google Gemini API — Your uploaded photo is sent to Google's Gemini API for AI processing. Google may process this data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
RevenueCat — Used to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user ID. Their privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties.
8. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary:
- Photos: Not retained by us at all. Images are transmitted to Google's Gemini API and are not stored on any servers we control.
- RevenueCat user ID: Retained for as long as your account is active or as required to manage your subscription. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 10).
9. International Data Transfers
Your photo data is processed by Google's Gemini API, which may involve transferring data outside the UK or European Economic Area (EEA). Google implements Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards for such transfers. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for further details.
10. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
As a UK resident, you have the following rights:
- Right of access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data.
- Right to restriction — you can ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to data portability — you can request your data in a machine-readable format.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at o@guemw.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's data protection authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
11. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
12. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Photos are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and are not stored on our servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App and on our website with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
